Birth Doula Services

Free Consultation- Before any decisions have to be made, we can connect for a free consultation where we can meet in-person, virtually, or via phone call to talk through any questions you may have about doula services and what that may look like for you.

Prenatal Visits- During the prenatal period, we will schedule at least two visits for birth and postpartum planning plan, discuss evidence-based information for informed decision making, and ensure confidence in any additional areas you’d like to focus on.

Communication- Throughout your pregnancy, I will be available by email, text, or phone call for updates and questions and will respond within a timely manner.

During the week before and after your estimated due date, I will be “on-call” and will not make any conflicting travel plans.

Continuous Labor & Delivery Support- Once labor begins, I will be there whenever you’d like me to be and will stay with you through the birth. If there is ever a time when I am not available during your birth, a back-up doula will be available in my place. This will be rare and discussed with you as early in advance as possible so that you may meet with the back-up doula before hand.

Postpartum Visits- Once settled at home, I will visit you at your home to debrief your birth experience, check in on emotional well-being, household/ environment support, social support, nutrition, infant care and/or whatever you made need at that time.

FAQs

What is a Birth Doula and why should we hire one?

1

A Birth Doula's role is to provide emotional and physical support, evidence-based information, assistance with planning, and empowerment during birth. Research shows that having the support that a doula provides decreases the likelihood of unnecessary medical interventions and allows for a more natural, positive birth experience and recovery through postpartum.

When can/should I hire a doula?

2

You can book as early as your first trimester all the way into your third trimester. Though the longer we have together, the more we get to know each other and prepare for your birth. Booking between 12-20 weeks ensures we have time to schedule prenatal visits to go over all the information and questions you may have. I do book on a first-come, first-serve basis and have limited spots that can fill quickly, so if you are curious or considering, definitely schedule a free consult to get started!

I believe in a holistic, personalized approach to doula support and offer a unique perspective with my Occupational Therapy background. OT offers a functional perspective and doula support focuses on your experience— both value meaning and putting you at the center of everything. I believe birth to be an incredibly powerful, transformative life event that women’s bodies were designed to experience, not simply a medical event requiring intervention and treatment.

What makes you different?

Not at all! Our goal is to support both you and provide space, knowledge, and tools for your partner to be as actively involved in your birth as desired. I am an additional presence that can think of and take care of the little things so you and your partner can focus on each other and work together through this experience.

Does a doula take away from or replace my partner's support?

4

Definitely not! My role is to support you in whatever your birth journey looks like - whether you choose a hospital, birth center, or home setting, or whether you are going to be induced, have a cesarean, or natural birth. Doula support adapts to all settings and I can offer an abundance of information and advocacy for all.

Does a doula only support un-medicated and home births?
